Fresh Fruits
The fresh fruit trade depends on season, variety and cold-chain handling. Indian fresh fruit is usually packed in ventilated cartons, pre-cooled and shipped in refrigerated (reefer) containers; highly perishable fruit and small shipments may go by air.
Seasons vary by fruit
Availability follows harvest periods in each growing region — for example mango roughly from April to July and Indian table grapes roughly from January to April. Share your shipping window with the enquiry and availability is confirmed for that period.
How fresh fruit is specified
- Variety — for example Bhagwa pomegranate, Alphonso or Kesar mango, Thompson seedless grapes
- Size or count per carton, and carton weight
- Grade or class, and colour
- Packing, palletisation and labelling for your market
Plant health and residues
Fresh fruit needs a phytosanitary certificate from India's plant protection organisation, and many markets set pesticide-residue limits or require specific treatments — for example vapour-heat treatment or irradiation for mangoes to some destinations. Mention your market's rules so the right documents and treatment can be arranged.
